I would far rather chop off my hand than send my parents to an old folks' home in Singapore, JB, or anywhere else on earth for that matter.

So long as I have two arms, two legs, and a head on an intact body, the welfare of my parents is the responsibility of my siblings and myself. If my parents can put up with caring for me for 25 years (and counting), I can put up with caring for them in their twilight years.

Some things are more than just about dollars and cents.... sadly, with magnificent suggestions like this from our illustrious leaders......

a few years ago another member of parliament suggested that singles and childless couples beyond a certain age should be made to pay extra taxes as punishment for ignoring their social responsibility to reproduce.

I have a problem. I like this guy A, but he's seeing this girl B. B and I are good friends, but her sister C is my worst enemy. Unfortunately, C happens to be going out with another guy I like, D. A and D are alike in so many ways, but while A is rich, D is more caring.

If I go for D, how should I deal with the emotions of C, and is it worth giving up A for him?
