browniebaobao SG last night went shopping also.. within 4 hours spent $140 after the discounts. maybe to u guys it's not a lot. but to me.. it's a lot liao. din even manage to find a place for dinner. everywhere was so damned packed. me and my fren were famished and only luckily managed to eat at a zi char stall after 12 am. Reached home around 2am, and slept at around 3am.. shack.. i foresee more spending this month.
SydneyLibrarian SG I've bought alot of things on my trip back - 4 Hang Ten t-shirts (1 as a gift for my mum); - 6 Giordano tops (& gave away 4 as gifts for family / colleagues); - Rene Furterer hair packs from Guardian pharmacy; - Toiletries / gifts from Watson's; - 2 tops from Baleno; - Cosmetics from Takashimaya; - 4 men's wallets from Isetan (for family members & friend); uhh... that's about all... so far... I still have another 5 days here so the list may grow longer
Rhonda SG Kinda. Afterall, this is my home country. Shopping here is definitely more satisfying! The currency's in my favour, plus the sheer range of goods available here is staggering! You're really limited only by how fat your wallet is! Whatever you want, you're bound to find it here! You feel happy spending $$$ here but over there, I feel that I'm mainly just buying functional stuff or 'common' stuff.
Rhonda SG Today, spent another ... let's see ... about S$350, thereabouts. Still very good girl, didn't whip out the credit card! Don't intend to either! Debit Mastercard's my new friend! Spend only what you can afford to!
Rhonda SG Hmm... should have bah. At the very least, even if the price remains the same, during this period, there should be some kind of bundling where you'll get free games or something. Why not go to the malls to check it out?
browniebaobao SG Rhonda knows where got sale for electrical products? i wana get an epilator... also got other necessities to buy... so can't spend too much... if not, i will go broke even before June comes.
missqi SG some jumper from topshop - 53 / 50% off red top from esprit - 50+ / 20% off baby's top from esprit - 8+ / 50% off this, is only the beginning.
Rhonda SG Hmm... I did all my shopping for my electronic toys only at one place - Best Denki in Vivo City. I know that they do have special promotions and discounts for selected items, but never went to pay attention to anything else other than the items I were interested in, so sorry, can't recall nor be of any help. Hope there'll be good discounts around, so you can stretch your dollar!
Rhonda SG Fwah!! 50% off?!!! Very satisfying!! Uh oh... just realised that I'm in danger cause when I return to Melbourne, it'll be June and time for their huge Mid-Year Sales!!
browniebaobao SG thanks Rhonda.. maybe i go Taka Best Denki see see.. Vivo is too crowded on weekends..
Rhonda SG Oh, speaking of mobiles, I also bought a mobile last week, but not counted, right? That was before the Great Singapore Sale. Darnit... as a Singaporean, I am not eligible for GST Rebates when I fly off!
Rhonda SG The malls here get so crowded, it's scary! In fact, everywhere here is so crowded at any time of the day!
browniebaobao SG but do u get the GST offset package? i think even if they give u $1000 also not enough to cover..
Rhonda SG I did get the GST Offset but it's only for $200 nia! My air ticket alone costs S$1,300++ already! Factor in my entire expenses during my stay here, I'd say I've spent upwards of S$3,500 liao! But I did get a few gadgets and toys to bring home, so it's well worth it. Actually, I return to Melbourne on time for their huge Mid-Year Sales!
Rhonda SG I like it when they have enough staff to tend to customers. I bought from Best Denki in Vivo City because the salespeople there were very polite and helpful. I actually walked over to Challenger to see what they had on offer, but I returned to Best Denki to make my purchases because the salesperson in Challenger was polite, but not very interested and he had this attitude of "This lady is wasting my time and not going to buy anything type!" Well, BIG MISTAKE, Buster! Cause I walked back to Best Denki and splurged almost S$900 there at once!
Rhonda SG My regret is that I didn't purchase the N75 that I had my eyes on. I was kinda wondering if there would be service support for that model over in Melbourne cause I wasn't so sure that they'd have seen that model yet over there. Ah well, I've got a nice Nokia 6300 now that I'm happy with.
