Macritchie to Bukit Timah via Belukar Trail

ShrodingersCat SG

Wonder if any of you have tried going to Belukar Trail via Rifle Range Road?

The route that I normally go by is Kampong Trail/Rifle Range Road then in from Senapang Road.. which doesn't lead to the visitor centre

I'm looking for another trail which leads to Belukar Trail -> Catchment Path but i simply can't find it when I went recently.

Wonder if someone can enlighten me?! from Rifle Range Road how do we get to Belukar Trail?

this i don't know but i heard from my friend who live in bukit timah, it takes at least 2 hrs to walk from bukit timah to macritchie.

ShrodingersCat SG

depends on ur pace. brisk walk about 3 hours.. relack relack one.. a bit more loh.

*whisper* and if u go at night, u get to see glow in the dark fungus.. which i love cos it makes me feel like fairyland.

I'm looking for a specific route - mountain bikers should know.. where Belukar Trail (mountain bike path) crosses Rifle Range Road?

kops21 SG

depending on which path u choose to do and where the start/end point. It is around 10km from MR Reservior - Ranger Station, rifle range Road to BK road.

possibly birds. just went Bukit Timah this weekend and interesting sights I saw:

lots of breadfruit trees along rifle range road! But no fruits
lots of durian trees too, but not yet season

I also saw a .. bird. Since i no expert at birds can't tell u name but very cool. its black with two long extended tails hanging down. very pretty.

occasionally i can see bat lilies along the way as well.

Its a nice walk, perhaps you all free can go sometime Smile

I wanna go too Mr. Green

ShrodingersCat SG

hee which ones are u talking about? A lot of them have disappeared or getting overgrown Sad

One of my favourites.. the network behind Jalan Kayu and seletar airbase is now under construction. Its sad but i really loved that area. Lots of fruit trees and other interesting plants.

Eh Hisoka...
Although the weather is hot and humid.. its the idea of GETTING there that makes me feel sian. But once you are there, and the walk started, you will find it enjoyable.

Fatum SG

well ... I used to haunt that place cos it's near my house ... but my brain is wired for directions, not names ... I can bring you there, but I can't tell you the trail ..... Laughing

some of the places are not on any marked trails ... if there were, they'd have been destroyed long ago ....
