it's a remora... those pads are suckers to stick onto larger fish like sharks or whales...

I caught these two fish before .... Very Happy

you can see guitar fishies in the wetmarket sometimes ... and they are pretty common off the deeper waters off the east coast of Singapore ...

I caught one of those remoras surf-casting from the shore at a beach near desaru, a local villager at the beach there told me it probably came off a large passing shark !!! .... Shocked

anyway, the oarfish is a huge fish Razz

talking about large fish, here's a basking shark.. the decomposing carcass has been thought to be a plesiosaur as it is about 30 feet

anyway, back to the weird fish.. the strangest are always the deep sea fish which have to be weird to survive in the extreme environment.. check out more weird-ass deep sea anglers Razz

I have actually caught the Remora before too.. err during my Still-Fishing days... It was really cool.. Can't take my eyes off the 'footprint' as Elindra says.

Hee yeah! Lurve cephalapods and fishies and all.... but.. Hmmm.... Sigh.. i dont know how leh. I LIKE to see them, documentaries and everything

but also am terrified of them. Dont know when I will overcome my phobia of big fish and finally take my PADI.

Maybe I shd just eat more fish. Marines and Marinades. HMmm YumS.

What is the biggest fish you have ever seen diving and how far off was it??

shro-cat, my sister's dive people took people who were afraid of big fish before... and they were certified the right way with NAUI...

want to contact them? Wink

i think av's got a VCD or DVD of them in either Sipadan or Aur...

btw, if you guys wanna go look for Mola-mola, get the mutantdude.. he was supposed to go last diving season but something cropped up...
