I LIKE to see them, documentaries and everything but also am terrified of them. Dont know when I will overcome my phobia of big fish and finally take my PADI. Maybe I shd just eat more fish. Marines and Marinades. HMmm YumS. What is the biggest fish you have ever seen diving and how far off was it?? shro-neow can come diving too then ! .. ... (oh, and don't don't don't take padi .... take NAUI ! ... ) I haven't seen any mantas or whalesharks yet ... trips for them were always duds ... biggest critter would be a 7-foot leopard shark off sattahip, Thailand ... got some blurry pics on my MX-10 ....

I haven't had too much contact with the big stuff, I'm the kind to go look for small creatures though. But seriously, the biggest menaces you will face on any diving trip are not big fish(they're mostly harmless), but rather, other divers, boats etc.
ShrodingersCat SG Yeah Hubby was telling me better to join NAUI too.. he also was interested in diving... so we might take it up together. Heard tt NAUI more emphasis on safety right? Hmmmm mebbe more sssoootable for me..... I am a very blur and scaredy cat.... will the divemaster help u check ur eq ALL THE TIME huh.. i scared i blur then.. u know.. all the.. things u suppose to click open and click close i forget... if panic in water.. how har? Like see Giant Grouper then Panic... when I see Giant Grouper at Underwater World.. my heart starts to thumpthumpthump leh... the Rays too.....
elindra SG When I see Giant Grouper at Underwater World, I start to salivate Start to think of the different ways to cook it
av98m SG Nudibranches are my personal favourite, because they are slow, very slow and come in a wide variety of bright colors
ShrodingersCat SG AV - yeah its because they are nude that's why.... nude nudis... tsk tsk~ Elindra - tough leh.. i think giant grouper's meat...
av98m SG Actually hor, the divemaster will be more scared than you if you are so scared You have to take a certain amount of responsibility for yourself, the divemaster cannot check on you 100% of the time. Just monitor your air consumption and stay within the specified depth and don't wander off by yourself, you'll be all right. There was this time I was the divemaster for my group, one diver grabbed my arm so tight my circulation almost got cut off. I'm so rusty now, I probably can't even remember how to put my gear together I see giant groupers all the time when in Malaysia, and like the evil bear, think of claypot fish head and stuff when I see them
the Bear SG okay.. here's the deal with the NAUI dive instructors... they're bloody anal when they come to safety.. which is good if i had bothered to get myself certified, i'd probably be a divemaster by now coz of the contacts available to me so, wanna? thinking about it, should i shake off the sloth and get my ass certified too?
av98m SG You guys go get certified, maybe I should just go through the course again myself Here's an old photo of me I dug up, can't even remember where it was taken
ShrodingersCat SG Eh so scary lehhhh....heheheh... GIant Groupers... how big one.. like the one in Underwater World.. tts like.. 1 m long??!!!
the Bear SG okay.. more weird fish.. a chimaera Sturgeon - the source of caviar... it's usually armoured a Flat Fish
the Bear SG here's a silly-looking fish... it's a Batfish (not the other bigass pomfret-shaped batfish) a weird snailfish an ugly grenadier fish
