Personal accountability is totally missing. Passing the blame becomes the weapon of choice.

This is already happening in Singapore wear parents blames everyone else when their children screws up. Or ignoring these kids when they do dangerous things like running along the aisle of MRT trains and using the hand rings on the buses as monkey bars. When these kids get injured, they blame the driver, the system, but never themselves.

When these kids messes up their grades, they blame the teachers for not teaching. Obviously there are some teachers that are not too good, but at the end of the day, the child should take ownership of his own life.

You know why airline peanuts have the label 'Warning: remove shell before eating nuts'?

Because people can sue the peanut companies if consumers get constipation by eating the peanut shells. Rolling Eyes

As stupid as this may sound, one consumer nearly pulled that off on a peanut company. The lawsuit was dropped after the company pointed out the warning label:

Why is this not suprising.
I mean hairdressers in the US are making their customers sign indemnity forms coz they are afraid of getting sued for giving a "bad haircut"

it's a place with the highest numbers of lawyers in the world, so hey ! ... they all got to make their millions somehow .....

some farkers try to pull a fast one and wrangle a few million bucks from some big corporations, but half of it will go to the laywers ..... Laughing

To me, of all the professions, lawyers are the most parasitic ones of all ....

a doctor cures your illness, a dentist pulls your tooth, an engineer builds useful stuff, pilots get you from point A to B, a teacher gives you knowledge ... and it goes on ....... heck, even prostitutes provide some sort of gratification for your money .....

what about lawyers ? ... to protect you from the law ? .... drafted by ... other lawyers ? .... have you ever noticed that lawyers deals with human tragedy most of the time ? ... bankruptcies, death and wills, re-possessions, divorces, custody battles ..... the whole profession is one big self-propagating scam I tell you ... my new landlord's fighting a custody battle right now, and I turned pale when he showed me his lawyer bills just the other day .... that's why I like the socialist's view of the law ... the less the better ...... Confused

sorry .... yeah ... I know this thread's about idiots, but I thinking about parasi, sorry, lawyers, just gets me going ....

I think this society can be a better place if we can accord respect to all people from all walks of life irregardless of the job or profession one may hold.

Here my abstract understanding of the legal profession.

Imaging living in a place without law and order and proper legal documentation for your assets and wealth. Without enforcement of rules on man, the nation will sink into a living hell with pillage, murder, fight, rape, incest, robbery, burglary, theft and other civil and criminal wrong-doing tearing the social fundamental block of a nation.

Henceforth, lawyers quadruple up as a law-enforcer, arbiter, administrator and human-rights activist to see that fellow citizens' property & rights are protected in a civil society governed by law. Vested with the sacred duty, being a lawyer is a calling and not a career.

It's quite simple, really.

People who file litigation lawsuits for trivial matters beyond logic are simply out for a fast buck. Lawyers, knowing just how much they can exploit the trigger-happy system to win suits for their clients, are also lured by the money.

In the end, it's all about the $$$$. Rolling Eyes

But in the end, who truly suffers from all these litigation lawsuits?

When we have McDonalds fearing people who scald themselves, they pass on the extra costs of manufacturing new cups to the consumers.

When we have burglars sueing homeowners for putting toys on the floor, we have rising premiums for home insurance.

When we have parents sueing schools for playtime injuries, the kids don't get to have fun anymore.
