the sensation of hot and cold felt by a person depends on many
factors. among them, the 3 most significant ones are: 1)
sensitivity of our nerves 2) metabolism 3) efficiency of digestion
system
1) hot and cold sensation does not necessary equate to more and
less heat in our body respectively. our body is not an accurate
thermometer and each of us are calibrated differently becos we have
different number of nerves cells with each sensitivity. i do not
know of any reports that state that fat people have different
sensitivity or quantity of nerve cells than thin people.
2) & 3) a thin person does not necessarily have high
metabolism, and likewise, a fat person does not necessarily have
low metabolism.
case (a) a thin person can have low metabolism by having a poor
digestive system. so this type of person will not feel hot all the
time.
case (b) a thin person that has high metabolism, he/she will feel
hot and react faster to cold temperatures.
case (c) a fat person can have high metabolism by having an
efficient digestive system, provided the digestive system is more
efficient than the high metabolic rate. he/she will also react well
to cold temperature.
case (d) a fat person who has low metabolism will not react well to
cold temperature.
these 4 cases illustrate that the physical size of an individual is
not an accurate way to predict his/her reaction to cold
temperature.
also, a muscular person will also feel hot becos to maintain the
muscles, it heats to burn lots of fuel (that is glucose), which
generates heat. if you want to be more resistant to cold climates,
builld up your muscles. this works no matter u are fat, thin,
low/high metabolic rate, efficient or inefficient digestive system.
