why do fat people feel cold, rhonda asked for explanation so let
me explain once again using the same heat transfer equation.
From my previous reply, we ignored conduction and radiation, which
forms part of the Eout portion. We did not take into account heat
loss by convection. With reference to my previous reply, the
following can be understooded
Heat rate Qconv = hA(Ts-Ta)
Ts = Body surface temp
Ta = Ambiance temp
h = coeff, which is the same since all humans
A = surface area
Since h, Ts, Ta remains the same for both fatso and skinny, we look
at A. fatso's A is higher, hence heat loss by convection will be
higher. Since Qconv is part of Eout, Eout will go up, causing
Estorage to be lower. Hence, this explains why fatsos feel
colder.
