Fatum SG To me and other other similarly impoverished students ... Italian cuisine means dollar pizza slices and home boiled pasta .... with heinz pasta sauce of course ...
Lingos SG Haute Cruisine? HAHAHA My ex toy boy works for the golden arches. I used to get kisses in drive thru' in addition to free nuggets. HAHAHAHA
Gazelle SG nelstar, are you not a singaporean or what? Dont you know that Singaporeans are wellknown for freebies? they can even camp over night just to get a $15 freebies you know? If you dare to state that you dont need ang pao, I can assure you that many elderly couples will bring their children and grandchildren to attend your wedding and give you their very very SINCERE wishes to make you and your wife SONG SONG!! in return, they will makan untill ba ba and song song. and shake your hand and say "thank you" you might not know this. alot of time when your friends or relatives say they are not free to attend your wedding is not because they are not free, but to avoid pay that $100 "summon" And if it is free shark fin abalone etc..I can assure you there will be loads of uninvited guest. Of course lah, if you are the grandson of Mr. Wee of UOB or son of Mr. Kwek of HL. then things will be different lah...
Nelstar SG And of course there is still something called INVITATION and something called stupid fool does not know what invitation card meant. If you are not even invited, how to attend? If my guests eats everything at the table, does not matter to me, since the food is prepared by the restaurant. Without invitation, how to attend? You watch too much movies to think it's a free-for-all and you should stop thinking about the movie 'wedding crasher' IF YOU ARE STUPID, DONT FLAUNT IT.
iveco SG According to Fymk, the lady's family usually pays for the reception cost in Western societies. Judging from the scale it is when compared to our 10-course dinners, I say it is a fraction of our budget. Anyway, with my own parents' dislike for attending Chinese dinners where lots of strangers make their presence felt, they'd probably give their blessing if I tell them I want to marry a Westerner, which my crush is.
zodi SG ello folks, i've got an invite to wedding dinner @ Hilton Hotel next month! Bride's my best pal from Pri sch. But rarely keep in touch since then. She invited me & beau. So how much ang pow ah?
the Bear SG wah... i dunno.. whatever place it is, usually i just put $100 in the envelope... 100 for completeness.. which is part of the wishes for the couple (and when i was attached long ago, $200 for the both of us)
littlestream SG Don't know how much ah but at least you must cover your share of the costs lah. Like example, each table of 10 costs $600. Then, you must pau at least $60. So, maybe $100 per person.

Gazelle SG What if your "INVITED" relative bring along their children to the wedding dinner? What if your invited guest call you up and ask if I can bring along my parents, and bla bla bla. What you are going to do? Can you say NO? Honestly I dont think you are balls enough to say that you can afford to host a 50 tables wedding dinner without accepting ang pao. If you do, I am sure your partner will be the first to F you up and call you a stupid fool!! If you talk the talk, you better walk the walk. If not that is as good as taking CO.CK.
Gazelle SG Jsut go lah. attending wedding is a happy thing. Even if you can only afford $60, I am sure it is better than not turning up.
