Rhonda SG Waaaaaahh!! Look at our beary magnificent Ah Bear and pals, flexing his muscles, putting on a very macho act, pulling the White Witch's sleigh in 'Chronicles of Narnia : The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe'!
Rhonda SG Funny... thought we had a thread discussing this movie a few months back. I can't seem to find it though. That Google search box is useless!
Rhonda SG Don't buy now... prices are kinda high now. Wait till some warehouse sale! This year, at the MPH Warehouse Sale, or was it the Times the Bookshop Warehouse Sale, the sets were going at special prices.
[email protected] SG is this movie any nice? Recently been reading quite a bit of such stories, esp Neil Gaiman’s stories.
Rhonda SG Headline : Pai See Lucy kaypoh around in her uncle's house whilst staying there for the holidays and discovered a portal into the magical world of Narnia!
littlestream SG Wah, Rhonda........you sure having a thing with Bear eh? At first, I thought the three animals were wolves. But that character in the pic looks cool yah.
Wanda SG How is Narnia the movie? Someone told me it's very good and that I shd watch it...but then this came from someone who is familiar with the book (Narnia) but had never seen an episode of LOTR, which I am using as the yardstick for mythical movies. So, is Narnia as good as LOTR? Better, or not as good? (Pls don't bother to compare with the Harry Potter movies coz I find those very un-engaging).
shinta SG i dun think its fair to compare it with lotr... cos LOTR's more focused on the effects right? hmmz at least that what it seems like to me =X
choco B SG Narnia vs LOTR (pls note comments are in relative to the other movie and purely personal opinion) Storyline: Narnia = somewhat simplistic, I think owing to fact that this is a children's book LOTR = more complex story Movie enjoyment factor: Narnia = 7/10, still worth the movie dollar LOTR = 8/10 CGI eye poppers: LOTR = good Narnia = slightly below good, but still good. I like the Minotaurs. Hunk factor: Narnia = zero! LOTR = wins hands down Cheem factor (can I understand the movie without reading the book?) : Narnia = definitely LOTR = yes, but must pay attention when watching @[email protected] Encore! Can't wait for next movie!! factor: Narnia: not really. Perhaps because ending was not left hanging. LOTR = yes Wet wanton count T___T : Narna = 2 . First few minutes of movie was definitely heart-wrenching & tear inducing LOTR = uuh not much. Maybe 0.5.
Rhonda SG Thanks for the review, chocoB! Hmm... I think I'll still go and watch ''Chronicles of Narnia'', for the CGI, and for the thrill of seeing the books that I read when I was a little girl, come to life on the big screen.
Wanda SG Thank u choco for a very interesting way of reviewing. I esp like your 'hunk factor' and 'cheem factor'.
Rhonda SG Haiz... movies that are big on CGI and special FX ought to be watched at least once on the big screen mah! Watching such movies on DVD's... not so shiok!
