OST? This must be a remake/re-recording. 99 Red Balloons (and a German? version called 99 Luftballoons) was first recorded by a young woman in the early-mid 80's.

The man who was death SG

si meh?? didn't know. the 7 seconds version is punk style

Wanda SG

Yes, there are many things you don't know that ppl in the 30's do know. It's called comparative advantage (ref to Econs). Laughing

Some OSTs I like are:
- Les Choristes
- Ocean's Twelve, unfortunately some music featured in the movie was omitted
- The Longest Yard. Unfortunately (again! ) commercial OST was a Nelly and friends promo album and omitted lots of great songs from the movie
- Master and Commander, for the classical string pieces

I also like movie scores from John Barry, who composed music for movies like Out of Africa and Dances with Wolves.

I caught Empire of the Sun on cable yesterday, and was touched once again by the incredibly sad story, the beautiful visuals, and struck by a score that was so moving and befitting the movie.

Wanda SG

Sounds like you learnt classical music? Very Happy

NeverSayGoodBye SG

.... Long and hard road out of hell by Marilyn Manson ost The Spawn

..... We are by Ana Johnson ost of Spiderman 2

..... Youth of the nation by P.O.D ost Blue Crush

choco B SG

Erm, when I was much younger heh. Not sure how much I actually learnt though :p

Some film scores are just so good, you intimately and immediately associate a theme with the movie or a particular scene.

FireIce SG

(OST of The Piano)

2046 OST

In The Mood For Love OST

the Bear SG

whole soundtracks?

Natural Born Killers OST compiled by Trent Reznor...

now how else can You Belong To Me by Bob Dylan and Back in Baby's Arms by Patsy Cline sound so sinister and frightening unless it was put in with another lot of songs and entwined in the movie by Reznor.. i bet he could make even the most innocent children's song sinister without editing it Razz

Streets of Fire OST

from a movie that is almost like a comic book, with almost over-the-top performances by Dan Hartman, Ry Cooder, The Blasters and the almost overdramatic Fire Inc. for the leading lady, Ellen Aim's concerts just add to the whole atmosphere of the movie... it was indeed a "Rock N' Roll Fable" Wink

School of Rock OST

what can i say? from The Darkness to the incomparable Eric Clapton... and surprisingly, the most memorable song in the soundtrack was Jack Black's jam with the children doing ACDC's It's A Long Way To The Top If You Wanna Rock N' Roll...

Cowboy Bebop the Movie OST (Future Blues)

was so good that i bought the damned CD for $70 from HMV and it was worth every cent! Yoko Kanno is a genius! and along with Mai Yamane, the song Gotta Knock A Little Harder, was the one song that made me part with $70 for the CD.. i am still amazed at how diverse the soundtrack, and how original it sounds...

FireIce SG

eh.....i think Madagascar OST oso worth a mention Mr. Green
