Whilst I know that a lot of folks think that match-making services just help you to get to know more people and thus, widen your social circle and increase your chances of meeting 'the one', I can't help but feel that one gets labelled as a 'Desperado' the minute one turns to such services.

Dunno... maybe I'm just not into match-making services. Razz

But, to me, it's a different ballgame altogether when friends try to arrange for outings to intro you to a guy.

I disagree.
Fatalistic or not, life is about survival and opportunies.

if ones belief falls on hopeless assumptions and pre-definited destinies, then life itself is not worth living.

That is the role which leads to self pity and self destruction (depression, suicidal etc etc).

Ah the edu-tainment channels...very informative and eye-opening programmes.

If u had watched another channel, National Geographics, the primate species (e.g baboon and mt. gorallias) Alpha males display similar heirarical society using his physical and violent potential to assert his controls on other males and his harems of females.

Having said that, there is another social extreme that some primates practices in EVERY social interations. They hv sex with almost every member within their group, and not because of natural procreation need, but to show affections and exchange of favours, like a female chimp will offer herself to copulation if she wants a male to share his food.

Going to analogy of Alpha on humans, I can say the evolutionary separations between primates and human is still at an early stage.

I can be a SNAG on the outside in order to win a lady's confidences and trust, but once in the bedroom, the Alpha-male trade still dominates Wink

another way of seeing is even with all the educations and opportunities presented in today's commerical world, women in general are still getting 2nd-rated deals in both cooperate and personal affairs.

One cannot assume that being a non-idiot or with a fatalistic attititude that one can avoid moments of heartbreaks and despair.

Love-life is like a cycle of life. It has its beautiful and ugly moments.
And like life, its will end at some point. The challenge is taking that gracefully.

And yes, its easier said than doing it.

Well, you can't exactly live life with a harsh, utilitarian view either.

Things like the flutterings of the heart, the nuances, the moods, the ebb and flow of life, precious little moments, memories and sentiments, stuff like that you can't exactly plan nor strategise.
