Bear can still exercise, e.g. can start with walking, then go
for longer walks which can be just as beneficial. A couple of books
I've read suggest that the "no pain, no gain" type of exercise is
not nec good for most people. To burn fat, a "slow burn" approach
can be more effective. Some treadmills in the gyms have built-in
programmes which recommends exercising within a certain (lower)
target heart rate if your goal is fat-burning, while a faster heart
rate target is meant to give a good cardio workout (for the heart).
However, if anyone is new to exercising, please start gradually, do
NOT over exert, or do too much too soon - it's always a bad
idea.
