Hyflux is not the only company in Singapore cracking their head for our nation in term of water supply also.....

Of course they are the first to be success in desalination sea water which make them an advantage in this area, but that doesn't mean they got any relationship with our goberment.....

A former Nominated Member of Singapore Parliament, Ms Lum currently is a member of the Singapore-Tianjin Economic & Trade Council, the Singapore-Jiangsu Cooperation Council, Singapore-Zhejiang Economic & Trade Council, Singapore-Oman Business Council and Singapore Business Federation Council. She also sits on the board at International Enterprise Singapore.

Among the many accolades Ms Lum has received for her entrepreneurial achievements are: the Winner of the Regional Growth Award by Nihon Keizai Shimbun at the 11th Nikkei Asia Prize 2006, and the Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur Of The Year 2011.

Singapore had long gone privatisation from it state own business, pub is now private, singtel is consider pte, even posb and dbs are private, so is keppel SPH< sembcorp and so on. Most of taxis companies are also Govt link, TC link to union gas to temasek, and so on.

Ms Lum was a scholars recruited in by Ho ching, unlike lim hwee hua and many others, she choose not to be in politic, and venture into business on the backdrop of ho ching support, first suzhou singapore industrial built by govt was her first entry into china, her asset can be worth billions, but she is only abt 400 millions rich. Brother brother...there are many reason why govt privatised state own companies, first is to let their peoples learn the hard trade of business, remember the iron rice bowl theme, govt is trying to remove it...another...

is one of the most important to them, to deviate responsibility and yet earn good profits, power suppy, SPC, CNG, hyflux, ST marine, keppel and so on, all privatised, POSB, DBS, Singtel, starhub so, what happen. Last time when govt increase electricity, water and oil prices, all kpkb the govt, fark them upside down, now, they tell you, sorry, these are all run privately with Founder and CEOs who have good citations and reputation, and these prices increase are all due to market forces, economy forces...not us.

You see the picture? Now why cdg privatised? why TC run by private, why SMRT got CEO? because they can raise fares up to them mah, not govt problem hor, but behind the scene, they profited

This companies we have been discussing not even state own before what.....

As long the company profile don't have the existance of GIC link, than we shall not presume or assume there is.....

Than you put all those wu bo companies together and compare, how can?.....

Since we only talking about Hyflux.....What Singtel, DBS should not cum into picture leh.....

Brother brother, you must understand what govt said when they mention essential protection, what are our basic essential?

It is the basic neccessities for a nation to operate in time of peace and also unforseen circumstances like wars, strikes, protest or Foreigner attack locals..lols

Food, electricity, oil, transport, gas, water, rice and many other daily needs are essential to any nation survivor, as such, govt must hv a hand on it, they are entrusted by the people who voted for them to take care of at least our basic needs, they can involve directly or indirectly, but they must hold responsibility.

To cut it short instead of having to bear my lor sor...What is tiong woon? crane for fark? NTUC fairprice, cdg is not just there to do business hor, in time of trouble, like the recent exercise of cdg on community awareness which they closed their main office, for fark? all because of the need to be wary of when thing goes wrong, govt take over.

So if hyflux that deal with water decided to stop all operation in singapore, pack and leave this country in time of war? singapore water resources become a problem, if Power supply decided being private.. pack up and off all generators in senoko and jurong, leave this country..how? limpeh fark half way all black out...lols..joke aside..The key word here is again, CONTROL
