Cabbies are told to keep their mouth shut but they don't necessarily do so. Mr. Green

And driving safely... hmm got penalty but I don't know why some cabbies still like to drive dangerously. Once when it was raining, a cab I was on was going at a speed like it was on the expressway, even though we were on Shenton Way. Confused And then when the cabbies drive quickly, they also brake quickly and suddenly and curse and push the blame on the car in front.

You mean passengers should also ask? Neutral I think cabbies should take the initiative more than the passenger should, because most of the time the cabbies know the roads better than the passenger. All the better if they advise the passenger which is the better road to take... like sometimes the cabby will say "I go by this way ah, the other way at this time got traffic jam". That is customer service - showing the passenger that cabbies care! Smile

Sometimes taxi driver never ask which way i want to go then they purposely will go long long way, got one time, i take taxi from outram to clementi.. the taxi driver never ask me take AYE or normal road, i also never tell him, theni notice he going via the road of the mrts 1.. dam du lan.. normally i take cab from outram from clementi is ard 8bux.. that time was 11bux...
Then sometime the taxi driver will drive and talk on walkie talkie or chit chat with their handphone, even remembered 1 taxi driver hold a phone and talk while driving.
Then from gear 1 to gear 2 to gear 3.. they always drag the engine, purposely use more fuel make us pay more...
Some taxi driver always got that look on their face like i owe them a living like that, no manners 1... never even greet you...
Because i every week take 10 times taxi to school and back from school, i find that normally drivers, the older the better, got more manners, then will give them small small tips
Actually taxi drivers got alot more to complain about la.. lazy type...

I not sure, but when at a junction when they stop, then they start again,they will drag the engine, you see the meter, quite obvious that it's rising faster than normal...

becos as far as i know, the meter is linked to their distance travelled which can be found in their speedometer....

Woah, take taxi go home and school, you must be very rich! Last time i sometimes take taxi but now fare increase, i early morning 6+am go and pong 9888Y.

As a ex-cabby, i strongly agree communication between drivers & customer is a important factor.

1) Always greet them, some customer will return a smile some will just ignore

2) Always ask for destination & propose few ways for the customer to chose*Do not press meter till you are clear where & how to go

3) Go extra mile by asking , air-con ok for them or radio station they prefer

4) Upon arrival, wish them a good day ahead.

Take his details & send it to LTA* Remember don't send to taxi company. Drinking coffee in LTA is more jialat than drinking coffee in taxi company office.

okay.. now that the news has shown the disappearing taxis until a certain time, what are the taxi associations, taxi companies and LTA going to do about it?

Now taxi fare market liberalised liao , LTA pattern also liberalised liao , since then , LTA would try to direct smaller issues to Taxi Company , they had more issues to dealt with .

But taxi comanies must compiled a report to LTA on the so-said issue and action taken . From there , LTA subsequently answer to customer regarding the complaints .
