In all, unless there is really a need to film, do not film trains.

Dear train enthusiasts, train fans, and the general public,

PLEASE DO NOT UPLOAD ANY TRAIN MEDIA UNLESS YOU HAVE PRIOR PERMISSION TO DO SO BY SMRT AND SBS TRANSIT STAFF. This is due to the suspected planned terrorist attack at Orchard Station. Any video uploads without knowledge of staff may cause suspicion in you helping the terrorists.

Thank you.

I want to re-emphasise the phrase I used earlier on:

"from within and beyond the station limits".

Dear train enthusiasts, train fans, and the general public,

Thank you.

Read this? Well, this may alert the security in Singapore so please try not to upload anymore videos and photos for now. I won't know when this will resume, but will probably be a long time... None of us want to ruin the reputation of this forum and stuff like that, yeah.

I know everyone is sad. I'm sad too. But please help us and restrict your train photo and video uploads to a certain limit, which is to be as low as possible.

Thank you.

Yea... Now something serious came up. I may lock the photos and videos thread, but I'm discussing with jcqh before doing so.

I think we should lock this thread but keep it a sticky. And do it ASAP. Terrorism threats are now real. I am not about to have train services ending at Novena and Somerset.

No. Train services ending at Newton better.

Notice: Only discussion of existing photos and videos allowed in the Train Photos/Videos thread until further notice.

No, this will affect a large group of commuters, especially those travelling around Somerset and Dhoby Ghaut stations (even though there are NEL and CCL), and Marina Bay station as well. (since commuters use this station to transfer to buses or walk to MBS)

The best way is to increase protection against Orchard station.

Crossovers may not be as effective as there will need to be 2 sides (Somerset - City Hall and Raffles Place - Marina Bay)

TPS Timothy Mok SG

Introduce 2 side service

Jurong East - Newton
Somerset - Marina Bay

Launch shuttle service to ply between Newton and Somerset stations.

If whole day, 2 side service cannot. Line will end at Newton immediately, since there is a crossover (mentioned previously).
If not whole day (preferably some time), 2 side services can.

Might as well have Jurong East - Sembawang, Khatib - Braddell, Novena - Newton, Somerset - Dhoby Ghaut and Raffles Place - Marina Bay services.

Oh, you can also scrap the Changi Airport branch line. Only Tanah Merah is safe in your terms.

OK. Infavourable to commuters. Scrap that plan.
