2 trains are used for normal operation from 8.30 AM to 7 PM. 3 trains are used when the traffic for Expo and Changi Airport is overcrowded.

3 trains are used between 8 AM to 8.30 AM and 7 PM to 10.15 PM during operation. 4 trains are used when traffic for Expo and Changi Airport is overcrowded.

That one not overcrowding enough. Overcrowding means nearly like during peak hours in CBD.

C651 (the white MRT) on Changi Airport line today.. first time for me!

SMRT does it again.. putting 2 trains on changi airport line.. (freq shld be about 12mins) on eve of PH with the IT show going on... zzzzzzzzzz

Your timings do not tally.

2 x 12 = 24 (reasonable, as pause time is slightly longer)
3 x 6 = 18
4 x 3 = 12

What it means is that when there are 2 trains, the 1st train would come back to the original stn in 24mins when there are 2 trains, 18mins when there are 3, and 12mins when there are 4. TNM to CGA alr takes 8-9mins, plus the pause time at terminus stns (1min x 2) when 4 trains are running, the minimal time needed for the 1st train to return to the original stn when 4 trains are running is 8+8+2 = 18mins.

Thus, I feel that, when there are 2 trains, freq is about 12mins
3 trains -> 7-8mins
4 trains -> 4-5mins

Most of the time , C651 is not CGL , not always. Welcome tourist with old train , they will think that Singapore trains are old.

If I were there , I will be very excited.Nowadays , more C651s are running on NSL instead of EWL.
