Whether she argued or not is not the friggin' point.....The point is, is the sipping of water on the MRT a punishable offence now? Punishable offences also...

Tilldeath23 SG

As I watched 630pm ch 8 news just now, there's a new report that says "imposing fines" to passengers that break the rules like eating, drinking. etc

Trainset they flimed were 097/098 and 039/040....and Toa Payoh Station

Any comments just post it here.. Thanks

so how? they hand out summons to the offenders? but what happens when the buses and trains are too crowded? or if commuters get angry and beat them up? bus drivers are already being beaten up.

stun gun

wonderamazement SG

once saw MRT Police stop a group of kids from playing cards in the train...

SinkTel SG

Maybe SMRT is reacting after so many posts in webbies like Stomp that so many people are either eating/drinking or making a nuisance out of themselves.

simnatic SG

Does it apply to trains only or on buses too? Anyway its a good thing. It's the way Singapore is meant to function...the rules were put in place for a reason and without anyone enforcing it, no one bothered to follow it. At least there would be lesser nuisances now on trains

av98m SG

if I'm sleeping on the bus/train and never see the pregnant woman or the elderly in front of me, will I get fined? or are they going to ban sleeping on public transport as well?

av98m SG

and if I'm feeling really sick and don't wish to give up my seat for the elderly or pregnant, do I need to produce MC?

Whatdatoot SG

drink 7up sprite in distilled water bottle, fined?

the Bear SG

first thing.. how the hell does the "patrol" move about seeing the trains are packed beyond capacity as it is

fudgester SG

If I have a migraine, and I take Panadol with a swig from my water bottle, will I get fined?

S.H. SG

I doubt anyone would be drinking or eating if the trains are packed enough to hinder movement.

SBS2601D SG

If I drool as I sleep will I get fined?
