I want to be a Train Operator because, its the experience that counts, not abt the salary. I don't mind being paid as low as 1k or such. I just want the experience of it..

How do you met a Train driver? Your relatives? Can ask me ask him whether how a Train Operator is being pay? :) Anyway, I don't think you can work as a Train Operator at this age, you need to be 18 and also completed your NS too. So just wait ba.

hehe, yeah... been dying to be one since i was young..

he was at the platform of joo koon station.. saw him carrying a bag and walkie talkie, suspected of driver because he was standing at the headwall..

he asked me and my friend why are we taking pictures of trains, then we said we are interested in trains, like Singapore, we have the SMRT.. Malaysia, we have the KTM.. so thats where i asked him, 'Uncle, are you a train operator?'

he's been a driver for 20 years already.. considered senior driver already. i will try my best to ask..

yeah a malay... saw quite a few chinese TO though.. dont worry, malay, chinese, indian or whatever can apply.. unless SMRT is racists or one sided to a race..

saw some young TO.. spike hairs somore.. and maybe i saw a new TO as he was flipping through a manual of the timetable.. nontheless, all TO i met at the station is very very kind..

No haven't started NS yet zzz. Next year entering. I'm still studying now(NITEC) same as you:)

My reason also roughly the same as you, I wanted to be a TO when i was small, so I'll surely pursuit my dreams:) and also how to control the Train too.

But the problem is, I only scare they have enough vacancy when i ORD in the future. Oh, do we need to give our resume when we go for the apply?

Heard from the people who work on SMRT, they say if you've been approved and pass their trainings, don't know first day or how long, there'll be someone guiding with you how to operate the train. When time pass by, you're alone. So anything happen, just use the walkie talkie to communicate to the 'OCC'. Is it truth?

its always best to get ready a set of resume, juz in case in the event the need arises then you have it on hand..
