In my opinion there should be more slangs, expressions, jokes,
etc.
This way Mandarin can replace dialects and Singlish.
I have a feeling Mandarin have not really taken off because it
was teached and applied too rigidly.
So some ideas, jokes, expressions, slangs, scoldings, etc, will
have to use dialects or Singlish.
So I think to promote Mandarin usage, it is necessary to think
up creative and catchy Mandarin expressions, especially for local
Singapore context.
