MYSTERY
Humans have two eyes. But, the world appears the same even if you
have one eye, and no problem walking around with one eye....
Qn: What are the uses of having two eyes?
There are two main reasons for this.
MYSTERY
SLOVED
Main two reasons:
1. Have a wider visual field. however this is nothing compared to
animals who have eyes on their sides, eg, rabbits, birds, esp.
eagles, for prey and predator (survival uses)
2. For effective motion detection and processing in the brain. The
brain process the differences in moving images between the two eyes
to judge the speed and direction of the moving object.
As mentioned, depth (2D or 3D) cues can be detected even with one
eye, therefore, they are usually considered monocular cues.
