windows disc. laptop. came with XP installed. how?

I found this on the net, try at your own risk and remember to
backup what you are replacing...
Method:
Go to Start>Search>For Files or
Folders... and search for
explorer.exe
You may find a copy in the windows\servicepackfiles\i386 folder. If
so,
copy/paste the file to the windows folder.
Your computer should come with a
restoration disc. I would recommend you to do a clean
reinstallation of your windows though. It would wipe out all
corrupted files and problems for a very long period of time.
Recommended to format and reinstall the whole OS.
