A letter of demand is just a threat lah, it's not a writ of
summons.
They know alot of Singaporeans kiasi, once they see letter is from
lawyer, they will all be cowed into paying. Like I said before most
Singaporeans don't know anything about their rights or legal
entitlement.
It cost money to submit a writ of summons, maybe less than a
$1,000. But finally if you decide to pay after they submit the
writ, they end up losing the $1,000 because they can't claim back
the money for the writ.
