My apologies for the late, late reply. I was very busy a while back
and thought that some other kind souls would provide you with the
advice...
To care for a cover usually means that you should have a regular
cleaning regime. When you clean the ball is subjective to the
conditions you have faced. The norm is, the more "worn" your cover
looks - especially after playing on really dry conditions - the
more it needs to be cleaned.
Cleaners remove dirt from the microscopic pores in the cover so it
regains as much 'grip' as possible. There are several types of
cleaners on the market, and each ball company has their own range.
But it doesn't matter which brand of cleaner you use - it's all
down to preference and price.
Another way of maintaining your ball is to send your ball to a
proshop for "re-conditioning" once-in-a-while. Basically, this
process restores your ball to its original condition, unless
otherwise stated.
