Almost every society whether it is here in rainy escape-prone
Singapore or in debt-ridden America, most people are sensitive on
issues regarding religion. May get flamed for this, but I do
question Issac's motive for creating such a thread here. After all
if he needed support there is church and there are far more
Christian/Catholic forums that can cater to him, (did he read the
pamphlets and books to new converts?) Kinda make me question Issac
real motive for posting here, really sympathy or
Trolling?
Last but not least i will like to know how the response will be
if some1 started a thread here about a Catholic who converted to
say Islam and ask for support here too and how every1 here in this
thread will respond. Not so nice when the shoe is in the other
foot
PS: Morale of the story is no matter which religion u are, if u
convert to other religion, U WILL be obstracized or shunned by your
community from past religion. Only time may and may not heal these
rifts.
Everyone must be allowed a voice, no matter where, regardless if
it is by the roadside or in the hallowed halls of Parliament.
We are no longer the uneducated citizens of the 60s. While we
may not be masters of knowledge for education is never ending, we
do have the sufficient intelligence to critically analyze and
rationalize another's perception and views.
We must never fear the spoken word, for fortifide with our faith
and comprehension, we can either consider it or resoundingly thrash
such thoughts. But NEVER to deny a person a voice, even such as
yours.
The more we claim sensitivity, political correctness, the more
such voices will be attuned underground and will only do more harm
to society.
Rather, lets us have our arms outstretched, palms facing upwards
and with a genuine respectful open heart to seek understanding,
without fear or favour. It is only with thorough understanding that
we can leave this world a better place for you and me and our next
generations to come.
