Could be. He/she may have gotten the pricing from some bogus shop, or added in some extra cash for profits. Great friend indeed.

But if he's a retailer, he might run into trouble. Just a matter of time only.

orionlight SG

yea, most likely a salesperson from some seedy shop.Suggest TS just ignore him and go to the above mentioned shop to buy everything yourself

ndmmxiaomayi SG

I got bad results with LG burner. It either don't read the disc, or don't burn properly or both.

And I build 2 PCs with LG burners. One of the owners returned the PC. Crying or Very sad

On the contrary, my Benq doesn't fare badly. Just a tad noisier. Laughing

ndmmxiaomayi SG

Agree. X2

orionlight SG

Mine is Samsung(S182) so can't comment on Lg burners, yea older Benq DVD writers give very good burns(Benq 1640), but their 1670 really abit CMI.I worked in a sim lim shop during holidays and they had so much 1670 stocks that no people want to buy and they were desperately pushing to sell it

M©+square SG

Brandless burners are my choice. Laughing

All DVD region free.
Burnable.

Cheap. Spoil liao can buy another one.

But change to mac cannot liao Crying or Very sad

Ya depends on personal usage and preference.

I feel that suggested GFX card is already enough.
MOBO should upgrade should user decide to upgrade any near future.
If not, he should consider if a more expensive mobo is important.

3 - 4gb ram for me cos i will need to speed up the process while doing graphical works. Maybe in future Avid or Video Editing softwre.
Huge HDD space is also essential to my usage.
Wink

My friend is a technician at Skylet..

M©+square SG

I will convert to mac because, my industry uses mac OS platform for their works.
I've faced numerous times when PC format cannot be read in Mac platform.

Secondly, Vista is turning me off big time.
I don't think they will have good solutions for the latter versions/service packs.
Don't want to waste my resources on those unnecessary effects. Laughing

so i have good reasons to switch. But no worries! I will still retain this PC laptop!

casshern SG

tat explains why..... Rolling Eyes

M©+square SG

Do you know other being a technician with a screwdriver on one hand, he also have a chopper on the other hand?

Laughing

I'm pretty sure you know what the vege chopper is for.

manyu882 SG

M©+square SG

This is the problem with people who doesn't know about computing parts and DOES NOT want to find out about it.

They become Cai Taos!

Mayi!!! Open one shop at SLS next time you graduate. And remember to sharpen your chopper as well. Twisted Evil Mr. Green

HelloMobile SG

Jia lat leh like that...I ask him for help long time ago, then now suddenly tell him don't want, what am I suppose to tell him?

Actually I can install the OS myself, but of course it's chiong one la...so can save $200+.

He's seriously cheating you.

The pricelist of Skylet shows that the products don't even cost that much, as he quoted you.

M©+square SG

Go these three and get the best out of the suggested specs. Compare price and decide.

Your friend is out of the league.
