Maybe there's a few wires u forget to connect to the motherboard.
HD, PW and SPK.
Oh yeah... u mentioned your PC don't have casing.
That's the answer to your question.

It's not necessary to have a internal speaker anyway. I always disable my internal speaker.

Yes.. U know there's always a Power switch on a computer casing?
I don't know how are you going to power up your pc without a casing with the switch. Or is there a external switch that connects to your motherboard??

its still possible to start a PC without the casing........if you have your jumper settings set correctly.....correct CPU type for motherboard......correct ddram....sdram........HDD andother accessories.......possible to start......

but you must at least have your motherboard powered and there must be the reset and power button cables attached to the jumper settings on your motherboard........

for random beepings when PC got problem cannot start up no need to connect speaker.... basically most motherboard has a small buzzer component installed/ soldered to the PCB top face that makes noises when PC encounter an errors prior to startup.

yes PC without case can start up and pls have proper grounding and handle with care if you are working near one
