Meia Gisborn SG Yup. They aren't referred to as Northworst airlines around here for no reason. However, they do offer the best transpacific airfares and most convenient routing. My recent trip from Minneapolis to Singapore, for example, cost only US$811 (round-trip, MSP-NRT-SIN, with a one-hour stopover at Narita), and for that price, I'm willing to make a few... concessions!

[/b]but also very weird timing their flights leave at around 6 in the morning from singapore so then u have to be at the airport at 4 am if ur the sort who cant sleep on planes.....
udontknowme SG can. but not during take off and landing you cant even use the ipod during take off and landing the air stewardess had to tap my shoulder and tell me cos my music was blasting quite loudly
Meia Gisborn SG Yup. I see people with laptops do that all the time. You just have to observe the FAA restriction of not operating your laptop (or other electronic devices) below 10,000 ft. (We're talking about inflight entertainment here, so your question was completely on-topic! )
ceecookie SG How do u know whether ur above 10k ft? I heard for flights from Singapore to USA,u can opt for Internet service. But i dunno how fast the Internet speed gonna be.
Meia Gisborn SG You open a cabin door, toss a coin out, and time how long it takes to hit the ground. Actually, once the aircraft passes 10,000 ft., a cabin announcement will usually be made to inform you that you can or cannot now use electronic devices.
littlestream SG gong xi gong xi welcome back and have a pleasant flight home. you don't believe this but we are having single digits on the plus side. and you call this winter? btw, i am NOT complaining.
megatron SG of course there is !! The cabin crew..and the seatbelt signs..give u guys a hint here; when the CHIME goes on and the SeatBelt sign goes off n you see the crew get up from their stations for service n the chief purser starts to make annoucement like" Ladies n gentlemen, the seatbelts signs have now been switch off but for your own added safety, please keep your seatbelts fastened at all times..bla bla bla....." FL100!!
ben1406 SG No Choice, alot of the airlines are fully booked and the company doesn't want to pay too much for my air ticket. At least i'll be on a airbus A330-200 all the way to Portland. They have the inflight entertainment on those planes. From Portland to the Minneapolis, a beoing 757 and from there to Toronto, i'll be on a Canadair Regional Jet.
udontknowme SG in toronto? nope. in fact...looking at the weather website...for the rest of the week, the temp is above freezing
