fudgester SG Come to think of it.... the TS might just be a troll out to get a thrill from pissing people off. He just registered today, and his first post is on a sure-flame topic. Heck, for his own sake, I'm hoping that he's just a troll. If he really has this sort of mindset in real life, then he's gonna get really, really screwed somewhere down the road.
soleachip SG I don't understand why so many straight A students these days can get so passionately chained to the label. Get a grip lah, it's just O levels. And there were ERs for courses (back in my poly days, no idea how it is now) where only a distinction in selected subjects will qualify you for the test and interview. Academic results and practical intelligence are two very different things. There might be a relationship between the two somewhere but that don't mean you should think of your O level results as a reflection of your self worth or your ability to do well in the real world.
the Bear SG they forget that education is not intelligence... and intelligence is not wisdom.. looks like the very educated here is not very intelligent and has absolutely no wisdom... i wager he'd lead a bitter, angry and hollow life while the rest of us laugh at him with pity... me especially because i save my pity for retards...
CfCJ SG RJC,HCJC,NJC,TJC! there are plenty of choices for you to compete with the Higher intellect ones. Since your are so POW"D"ERFUL in your studies then why even bother to go poly? you are too "Smart" for the poly larh. so stop wasting our time.
798 SG ever heard how Lotus Flower is grown? wat many stated is true, if u do not have EQ, chance is u r not going to success in life. those usually look down on others r the one who suffer mostly in life.
soleachip SG Have to agree there is a reciprocal thing going on between academic and practical achievements out there in the real world. I reckon it's important to have both since TS is just one of the many to judge self worth and value based on a person's academic history. Such is life.
SBS3625D SG I ever come across people with good results who joined poly to.... ..."own" the people there. WTF.
redstone SG Go Woodbridge Polytechnic first, get that stupid mentality of yours treated first. Which JC?
RETARDED_MORON SG Being book-smart and being street-smart are independent attributes. Just because one isn't book-smart doesn't mean that one is street-smart, and vice-versa.
Jem777 SG Unfortunately for you, poly is not all about spoon feeding and regurgitating memorised work. Alt QQ, good game.
Evangelion84 SG I can see where u r driving at. Hey, the rest of the guys, dun be so harsh on him His statement may not sound politically-correct but i tink he's trying to say that he is afraid of meeting slack classmates who wld influence to slack or led him astray. Well, its up to u guys to debate whether poly got slack pple Pple might argue back and say, its up to his own discipline but i feel that environment, especially peer pressure plays a huge part. So TS, if u r extremely disciplined, go poly den
Evangelion84 SG Im not sure on this.. I have a few frenz who graduate from poly, with Merit. They told mi poly is all abt regurgitating and everyday practice and practice the same thing till u know how to do. And some more, exam is the same qns as the tutorial. As long as u got do ur tut, sure get A... except that most of them dun study one.... or so they said Perhaps any one here can clarify?
SBS3625D SG Each to his/her own studying technic. I'm from a JC but I don't regurgitate. It's very unnatural for me although I admit I have to get the key-points right, which means some form of regurgitation must still be done. BUT you don't regurgitate to a certain extent, how do you do your poly/JC? As long as you do it and understand it's fine.
shade343 SG So just because of that single statement you think all poly students in a high COP course are stupid, lazy and slack? I think you sound very dumb
798 SG 80% of exam questions almost similar to past years papers n tutorials. but examination from poly only 30-40%. meaning the daily coursework such as common tests n attendance have to be consistent. meaning if u prepare urself well everyday, getting an A is really chicken-feet.
