seriously, wat are they feeding these ppl?Virgin blood.

what is yard time?

Its the time inmates are let out from their cells for fresh air to feel some freedom. Its not easy to spend 23 hours in the cell with 3 or 2 other inmates in the cell room which approximately measured around 3.5 X 5.5 metres I think.

SJS6638 SG

I see.

zulkifli mahmood SG

Most of the time for new inmates, they will read books, magazines, talk about their crime they had committed or simply eat and sleep during that 23 hours lock up. The warders will treat you all the same without any priveleges and they will see you like someone who is zero.

SJS6638 SG

treat zero means invisible or what?

Means you are nothing...useless...good for nothing...wasting tax payers money...idiot...stupid..etc...sometimes like they see you like an animal especially those wicked warders.

that's bad. If I am them, I would be kind and hope those inside will turn over a new leaf

Some warders are good and talk to you nicely...but most of the time they needed to make you feel zero about yourself first so you will learn your mistakes from your crime that you had committed. I really don't blame the warders to treat the inmates like that because most of the inmates will take the warders' kindness as weakness and they will try to take advantage of the warders.

Ok, that is why ....

In the begining, life as an inmate in prison is very difficult to pass but once they are able to adjust and adapt the prison environment, the new inmate will be ok. Then once you are selected to work in a SCORE workshop within the prison, the inmate's life would be easier. Every end of the week, the working inmates will get paid canteen allowance and some of the allowance will be saved in their POSB saving account for them to use when they are released from imprisonment. And some portions of their weekly allowance they are entitled to purchase some can foods for their consumption. The working inmates will start work in their respective workshops from 8am to 5pm.

On a positive note, their makan is taken care of whereas out here there are people who struggle to earn for their meals.

Yes and they have no choice. Not everyday the inmates are given good food. There is no instant noodles and they hardly can get sardine as their meals but once they start working they can purchase the sardine weekly. Out of 7 days, 2 days they are served with hard boiled egg, with ikan bilis (enchovy), sawi veggie, rice with sambal (chilli) sauce. The prison used to have inmates as cooks at the cookhouse to cook for all the inmates. Now I think the food are supplied by outside caterers I think. The Army food is ten times better that the prison food.

Yes thats true. Well, pastor kong hee and his kakis can get used to the food. And the first day of their imprisonment they need to get used to share the same cell with robbers, murderers, gunmen, rapers, molesters etc....hope they can face that fact that they are going to prison one day.

SJS6638 SG

really don't know if they are given the chance to go jail.

See the law seems lax, allowing them to travel overseas. May be next they are scott free.....

If they runaway like a fugitive....they will live in fear and they will always look behind their backs to see if anyone is following them. They will not have good sleep at night most of the time and always look outside the windows to see anyone looking at their hideout place....its like that for fugitives.
