A MAN was charged on Wednesday with molesting his stepdaughter
and having sex with a minor under 16.
The 41-year-old safety supervisor allegedly began molesting the
victim when she was 12 by touching her breasts in 2007.
The following year, he allegedly molested her again as well as
three more times last year at their home in the north.
If convicted of the sexual penetration charge which is said to
have taken place last year, he can be jailed for up to 10 years or
fined or jailed and fined.
The punishment for most of the outrage of modesty charges is a
jail term of up to five years or fine or caning or with any
combination of such punishments each.
The accused, who was represented by Mr Ravinderpal Singh, is out
on bail. A pre-trial conference has been fixed for April 5.
