Advise needed to use cab to pick up family members

Hi all. I will be getting my cab in 3 days time. Some impt questions to clarify.

1) my wife wants me to pick her up in CBD area for example wisma or taka. I travel from my home to pick her. I understand that I cannot manually put on call sign Liao. So can I put busy?

2) upon reaching orchard, I can only put here from taxi stop or taxi stand right? For instance there's a long queue, how do I make sure I can pick her up without other pax saying she cut queue or other taxi drivers saying I cut their queue.

Simple, Just start your Taxi Fare Meter !

For Blue, Yellow and Red, change the Fare to $0.10;

Because when there are Pax on your cab, regardless Pay or Not, the Taxi Meter better ON, If there is any accident, then insurance company got noway to decline the claim.

Put busy sign first then go in. After that when she on board start meter. Because when ferrying pax even if family members or friend must on meter for what I know.

What about when approaching the taxi stand?

I just queue behind and wife walk over to my cab then I just drive off or? Hope not to stir trouble with queuing pax or other TDs.

Correct me if I am wrong.

1) Start the cab, put "busy" but don't have to on meter.

2) Tell your wife to wait at the taxi stand once you are about to reach there.

3) Go to the front of the taxi queue, as though you just want to alight pax, pick up your wife, on the meter and go.

Koh, to minimise all the problem, the best is to make sure yr wife is at the Taxi stand/stop before you arrive. This will solve you the problem to queue up or she has to queue. One she is there and u arrive, u just have to go infront of the Taxi queue (most have a pickup bay) and she just pop in. If i not wrong, u can choose to display your Taxi number when reaching there.

I don't think so. Your wife is also not in the queue.

Said you have an "On Call" sign, will other taxi drivers know since they can't possibly see your sign if you are in front of them.

taxi dun need to join the taxi Q... human dun need join the human Q...

juz stop at the alighting point... she hop into your cab.. drive off...

But assuming its late midnight in the cbd. Or times whereby the traffic is light.

Can take a little risk and pick up or alight on roadside? Cos it will be tedious if she need to walk to find a taxi stand just to wait for me to fetch.

but if u picking your wife during 12pm to 8pm... u might want to consider ask her to wait at ion instead... coz u need to pass tru erp to wisma... unless u are heading into town den no diff... after 7:55pm no more erp...

No gahment Liao meaning I can legally fetch or alight anywhere inside cbd or you saying there is still 1% chance I will get fined?

Ive being driving private car for many years, already used to picking up or alighting anywhere. So driving a cab and I can only stop at destinated places freaks me. Bus stop also cannot stop...
