Advise needed to use cab to pick up family members

No gahment Liao meaning I can legally fetch or alight anywhere inside cbd or you saying there is still 1% chance I will get fined?

Ive being driving private car for many years, already used to picking up or alighting anywhere. So driving a cab and I can only stop at destinated places freaks me. Bus stop also cannot stop...

in cbd along roads where public buses ply... can onli pick n drop at taxi stands, taxi stops, driveways...

other timing free for all...

No need so troublesome, normally when I need to pick up my OC or my two princess,

I just Start meter change to $0.10,

Get her to wait nearby the Taxi Stand, go & park nearby them, pick and go.

(Because my Red Engine with sunscreen glass, those ppl at Taxi stand don't know anyone in my cab or not)

Correct Procedure , legal one , insurance also not affected one is BUSY

When u are alone in a cab , regardless of on meter off meter , in terms of accident , all insurance problems .

I would advise DO NOT put $0.01 . . . why give the insurance companies something to dig about us ?

I put $0.01 nia...lol

I know that SMRT can set to $0.01 whereas other cabs cheapest is $0.10

You can use different codes.

$0.01 for wife

$0.02 for kids

$0.03 for friends

$0.04 for maid

$0.05 for doggie

etc.

Hkoh, actually private car also cannot stop at bus-stop.

Better to put on Fixed Rate than Busy.

Fixed Rate will stay even if you off engine.

Busy will be reset when you off engine, (but the Taximeter still show Busy)

For LTA . . . as long as you put BUSY , are indicating to commuters , u have no intend to do business .

Just cannot put TAXI and dun take passengers at taxi stand .

Taxi no wrong doing to wait at Taxi Stand , even with BUSY .

But once involve in accident , suay suay need to claim whatever , then without On taxi meter , insurance company can say u are illegal despatching passengers which they do not cover the claims .

Yup. Private insurance companies will even pay double indemnity if meter is on as the pax on board is classified as getting involved in an accident while in public conveyance.

Yah. I have certain ppl to pick up at a fixed timing fixed location. But of cos will on meter and charge booking fee accordingly as they can claim from company.
