cherry_garcia SG Hello! I'm a twentysomething female looking to drive a coupe cabriolet while I'm still on the right side of thirty Looking for something that turns heads and yet is reasonable to maintain. I'm not a speed demon but am currently driving a Cefiro so am used to the kick of a V6 engine. Budget is 100K and under. Auto transmission is compulsory (sorry, but crawling in traffic jams using a stick shift is just no fun) but wouldn't mind one of those dual manual-auto gearbox things. Main contenders are the Toyota MRS and the Mazda MX5. Concerns about the MRS are that as they are winding down production, I just wonder if getting parts for it will be an issue in time to come. Other than that I prefer the aesthetics of the MRS over the MX5. Comments from MRS/MX5 drivers? Anyone has any other suggestions besides the above? Advice appreciated. Thanks guys!
HeXy SG Just to warn u in case u dont know, the MR-S roof is manual. Somemore it is a inline 4 cylinder engine.. not V6.. haha.. But there are few cars to choose frm, so it boils down to the 2 cars u listed nevertheless if u need power...
MucusPucus SG peugeot 206cc - $80+ or colt czc - $80+ czc turbo - $90+ though imho mx5 the best all rounder, best choice
Kuali Baba SG I forgot you want something for less than $100,000. Please look at the coloured options. So you want a car which has a foldable metal roof? You should also consider the Volvo C70 T5. Others that are available include... Mitsubishi Colt CZC 1.5 (available with normally-aspirated and turbocharged engines) BMW 325i Convertible Peugeot 206 CC 1.6 (Seats 2 and hits 100km/h in 12.5s though) Peugeot 307 CC 2.0 (Seats 4 but only 0.5s faster than the 206) Renault Megane CC 2.0 (This one has a glass roof, with retractable shade) Opel Tigra 1.4 (Seats 2 only, century sprint done in 13.4s) If your pockets are deep enough, there's the Lotus Elise. You've never known the joy of driving until you've driven one, they say.
Kuali Baba SG I'm sorry, there are no other options that can be bought new within your specified budget...not even the soft tops. You have the... And the rest are supercars.
nOrmalbOi SG I would actually say that the MX-5 would be more suited to a female.. IMHO anyway.. to TS.. maybe u could wait a little bit for the new 307CC.. but its likely to be about 10 grand above your budget tho.. and for these type of vehicles... unless u can substantially increase your budget.. u would not find the kinda power that u have in ur 230jm..
Caligynephobia SG diahatsu copen is a good choice. budget coupe. and i think very fuel efficient, cos only 800cc. haha.
Garage R SG daihatsu copen is good..have sat in it..really a head tuner..BEST IN YELLOW! everybody sure turn around..haha i was sittin in a yellow 1.. oh man..i so wanted a lime green MR-S! oh it is manual roof? no auto meh? didnt know it so sucky.. anyway..if u think the copen is too small/too underpower(although it has a turbo),u can always try to buy a 99 merc SLK230..very nice car too..small n nice..
