put it this way, we should be recycling stuff. Yes, no doubt
about it. But this just sends a wrong message.
imagine the child asking the parents why are they bringing
things down to the recycle bins.
The parents being singaporean will say that it is to save money
(and not being enviromental friendly etc).
If they wanted to do something, they should try to change the
culture. Most typical Singaporean are extremely driven by numbers,
especially money.
What they should do to create a recycling movement, maybe every
fortweekly, send a fleet of lorries and maybe an educational bus to
various housing district, make it like a mini fair. But instead of
punishing those who do not, they should be giving small incentives
maybe in the form of ultility bills rebate (strictly no cash
vouchers etc). Take this opportunity to educate people properly
about saving the environment.
