Yishun worksite pay dispute resolved
SINGAPORE: The Migrant Workers' Centre said a
favourable resolution has been achieved in the salary dispute
involving foreign workers at a construction site in
Yishun.
This follows a meeting at the Manpower Ministry
(MOM) on Wednesday at 4:00pm, where the four foreign workers met
with their employer and a MOM case officer.
The employer agreed to pay all outstanding salaries
to the workers.
The employer also paid for their return air tickets, after the
workers indicated they wanted to return home.
It also urged foreign workers in distress not to take
matters into their own hands.
They should instead approach MOM, the Centre itself or any other
migrant help groups for assistance. -
