"It does not mean that there are no taxing regime in the
world.
" since you say this what is your
beef about taxes?
Those countries have other taxes that are higher than and more
punitive than Singapore's. What is their income tax rate? How
much is their VAT? (Their GST)
My income tax is only a few hundred dollars, per year, and this
I don't pay because my dividends tax cover it ,and I have some
refund somemore.
"Their taxes are more punitive than most other taxing
regime" This is more your emotional feeling than it is
fact.
Don't forget citizens in these countries make afew times that of
Singaporeans, if you do a GDP per capita comparison.
Income taxes are taxed on a marginal tax rate basis, the more
you make, the more you are being taxed. So the poorer folks are
still not taxed punitively like Singapore, which have a GST but
provide ZERO social welfare to it's citizens.
How much does a McDonald's staff make in Australia? AUD15? How
much does a Singapore McDonald's staff make?
What is the VAT or GST of Australia?
GST in Australia is exempt on basic necessities like books,
medicine and staples. Whereas Singapore's GST is applied broadly on
all goods.
What about COE and ERP?
Why are there so much avenues of taxes? With so little
expenditure on social welfare. Why is there a need to over burdenly
tax her citizens, so as to build up a reserve and
frivolously invest in overseas company based on cronyism?
Is there medical welfare in Singapore?
You can't justify that a country has a more punitive taxing
regime based solely on it's taxes, you need to look at it's
expenditure on social welfare too.
Singapore's gist is to tax as much as possible from it's
citizens, spend as little as possible on social welfare
and pay themselves a big fat paycheck.
