not even for SGH plate .... if someone's else fault , then they will pay for it , and most will take advantage of the regualtions .

hi bros and sisters..

need some help here.

my company let me drive the van back home because one of the colleague needed help to transport a CRT monitor back home..

as it rained earlier on this evening, i met with an accident at 30km/h along serangoon interchange.. the van did not manage to brake on time and skidded to knock a corolla altis rear bumper..

the driver of the altis said that he wants his whole bumper to be replaced.. but not just knock out. primarily because his vehicle is SGH plate. (gonna be damn expensie..)

so.. does it say my company is liable for damages?

My advice , report this accident to ur Van's insurance company , let them deal with it .

U need not pay any $$$ , cos every vehicle is insured ..... unless he just want "knock here knock there , and re-spray" , then u can manage , but if he insist on a brand new bumper , then better let ur insurance company pay all damage .

Well SGH plate... most prob he will go back to borneo for repairs.

Repairs done by agent are more expensive.

Borneo dun knock the bumper back in shape regardless of how mild it is... they will change every single damaged part with a new one.

Repair cost mite hit more den 2k... for just a bumper... Confused

transporting CRT monitor for your colleague is NOT you, the employee’s, job for the “company” and therefore the company is not liable.

seems like the altis will wanna go back to borneo. so definitely u muz claim from ur van insurance company for the altis repair as well as your own. and you might need to fork out $$, depending on how much your excess is. if there isnt any, then all is well and good.

You only got 2 choice, let the company know and pay by insurance or pay by yourself.

Report to company: Depends on your repo with the company, if the boss likes you, you need not pay a cent. Most of the time, company will deduct from you but not the full price. Maybe like 20% or if your company is farked up type, will ask u to pay all so will not affect their insurance.

Pay by yourself: You can bring it to a workshop to do. Not necessary go to BM.
Bumper + spray will be around $550 +/-. If go to BM, will cost around 1.5k
Normally is a 1 1/2 day job.

You may not be able to use the company insurance if your company says that you are on unauthorise journey or non-job related. See which way is better.

i thought dealers cannot do 3rd party claims? i.e. he cannot bring the vehicle to BM and ask your insurance company to pay...
what my friend say one. dunno if he talking about specific dealers or all dealers...

anyway, if want to claim insurance (1st- or 3rd-party) must go IDAC 1st right?
also if claimed insurance, next round insurance premiums will be higher
that's why many people prefer to pay from own pocket...

The a/m insurance is meant for workmen's compensation, not for vehicle repairs for traffic accident. If you are injured in a traffic accident, yes, you are insured under workmen's compensation (unless your employer says you are not authorised to use the van or without permission to use). Report to insurance company and they will settle the claim for you, you need to pay the excess...etc.

Hello, if the replace cost of the bumper + other eg number plates and knocking some inner absorber etc can easily come to 2-3k. Leave it to your company to decide to claim insurance or not. Anyway what the purpuse of buying insurance and not claiming ? Dont worry too much la as it is an accident.

Just days ago, our 6 month old Airwave was kissed by an old Mercedes. We send to our PI workshop to evaluate - bumper replace + spray (of course we want to replace the bumper) and the boot was dent but we agree to let them panel it back to shape.. estimated to be about 2k (1k for the bumper). And also claim for transport or rental car for the days the car is undergo repairs. The other party decide to claim insurance also.

It is a company car, of course your company is liable for the damages or repair to the other party. However, whether your employer claims from you, it depends. Say if you are the boss of company, your drivers involved in traffic accidents, will you do something to your drivers, such as make your drivers to pay for the excess...etc?

if u didnt say u transport thing. u breach utmost good faith liao.
if they found out. u can 4get abt claim frm insurance.

u deliver thing without ur boss instruction.
so maybe the policy wont cover lor.
or ur boss ask u pay.

and most policy will have smth like "1st $2000 is not cover"
cuz it is insruance interest to make sure u ownself will take care of teh car

den hor. u claim 1 time insurance. u need pay higher premium nxt time.
