Well, this has been a topic of argument with my dad.
My dad was a Manual driver, so for him the argument for auto cars
is that he has to go neutral.
For me, i explained to him that Auto trans car are build in such a
way that it can be in D when stop.
In Manual, you neutral so that you need not clutch. Other you can
be in gear but have to clutch and brake. Tiring.
In auto, just brake will do since the auto trans fluid will
"clutch" the engine, therefore it will not stall.
Another argument is that, you frequently, N to D, D to N, it just
wears off the transmission.
where as brake at D, you just use up trans fluid.
