Ask the company to issue another cheque.

Most du lan is POSB say since august 15 they don accept cross cheque deposit at counter when i queue up at the counter. must use quick cheque deposit box than i use already they lost it Twisted Evil Evil or Very Mad

Just curious but what is your company’s view about the lost cheque? How would they know whether or not you have already cashed it in? Is the bank going to explain to your company about the cheque?

Can check one mah.. Every check got the reference number.

If the cheque had been cashed, it'll appear in the account.

That's why there is such thing call Bank Reconciliation Statement, it's whereby the company issue a cheque but it has not been cashed, or so called Unpresented cheque. That's why the statement is not balance and required reconciliation. Wink

IF YOU CAN PROVE THAT U DID SLOT THE CHEQUE. U CAN GO THREATEN THE BANK. MAKE THE STAFF LOSE THEIR JOBS, MAKE THEM BEG U.

next time, use hp camera and take a pic of your hand putting in the cheque... Citibank is best, the cheque goes into a machine and the machine prints out a receipt.... best of all, can also put in cash...

... put the cash into an envelop, put into the machine and the machine prints out a receipt...

That's why I always ask the teller to stamp received when I bank in cheques, because if they lose the cheque, they can deny responsibility.

I will only put cheques in quick deposit box if I am sure I can get a replacement cheque easily.

What if one day, some crazy guy pours kerosene or methylated spirit into the quick deposit box and set it on fire. Though the guy will be caught, you might not be able to find a replacement cheque.

No choice leh.

They say since august 15 POSB and DBS don't accept quick cheque deposit at counter. They only accept cash cheque deposit at counter. Cross cheque must use quick cheque deposit box

There is something wrong with their QCD boxes that instead of the cheques dropping into the box it dropped out of the box.

It happened to me sometime ago, I went back to that branch and had the staff to check. Checked out that the cheque was located at the secondary box. Cheque cashed eventually w/o a hitch and the bank promised not to repeat.

I think as for your case due to the lapse, you may need to have your payer reissue another cheque for you. Next time check your accounts closely either online or via phone bank so that you will not miss out on your quick deposits.

Anyway, all the banks in singapore don accept quick cheque deposit at counter or is it only posb and dbs?

DBS/POSB of course....

There is another metallic box inside that quick cheque deposit box where there is a slot for u to push the cheques into.....so when it is time for the QCD to be collected, the staff will open up and collect that metallic box where the cheques are supposedly be.
