The Evo in F&F:TD is actually an IX. Note the black chrome
headlights that come standard with IXs. VIIIs come with chrome
headlights and rear lights.
The reason why there is the centre-piece on the front bumper is
because the Evo was fitted with a APR widebody kit based off the
standard VIII front bumper.
It was also installed with a kit supplied by RMR allowing it to
switch from AWD mode to RWD mode on the fly, hence making it more
driftable. Although Evo purists would cry foul at the conversion,
given that the Evo's roots are in 4WD rally events.
