I disagree with your view. I see semi auto gearbox not shifting
up when hitting rev limit as a limitation, not "Truer" semi-auto.
Whats the point of bouncing on your rev limiter when the car should
go faster by shifting up to the next higher gear?
Anyway, the civic paddle shift I believe is still based on auto
gearbox with "manual" gear selection. "True" semiauto (or semi
manual) such as SMG (BMW), DSG (VW Group), e-gear (Lambo) and
Selespeed (Alfas, Fiats) are based on manual gearboxes using real
clutch, not torque convertors.
