For those nsf military drivers
If his vocation is a driver, he will attend a class3/4 driving
course. Which comprises of learning how to drive land rover
(class3) for few weeks and 3/5 tonner (class4) for the rest of the
course.
Driving test is based on class 4 vehicles; supposedly still using 3
tonner.
The practical test will comprise of public rd, just like what the
civilian learners will go thru. However, they have no circuit test,
they do have a chance to drive in a circuit with the land rover but
not tested. They will only be tested parking with a land
rover(angular and parallel) and a tonner(angular). Before the
practical, they will have to go thru driving simulators too.
Whereas for the theory part... theory comprises of MCQ questions...
something like the civilian one but they compress both basic and
advance questions together as one paper. Another part is HSP
(highway situation problem)... use toy cars and explain given
situations. HSP is usually the killer for many pple... need to
repeat 1 or 2 times or even more cos many drivers are not very
educated and inevitably, expressing themselves verbally will not be
such an ease.
This is what i could remember. oh ya... and testers are from army
side too... very senior ranking ones... most used to be regulars.
Very strict, fierce and will not compromise one... I heard of pple
cannot pass for over 8 times..
Passing military license is definitely more tedious than civilian
ones just by judging the size of the testing vehicle.
Some non driver vocations require military license too... however
some only need class 3 ones...so they will just train on class
3....everything on class 3 loh.
There are conversion courses as well...
I believe all bus drivers have class 3 lah... i think u have to
possess class 3 in order to learn class 4.
