toyota-corolla SG I wonder does Singapore cars are install with speed limiter? If I'mnot wrong, the new HOnda Civic have lea. Havent officially try it out. Hopefully dont have speed limiter.
alleggerita SG No speed limiter la..speed limiter only fitted in vans, lorries, trucks and buses..or in other words, only heavy commercial vehicles gets speed limiters..all private cars are not fitted with speed limiters.. But Mercs and BMWs and most German marques will limit the speed of their cars that can exceed 250km/h to 250km/h max..so even though in theory the car can go beyond 250km/h, they still fit speed limiters to limit it to 250km/h..it's an agreement between most German marques..but of course there are exceptions like Porsche, and the supercar produced by Mercedes..the SLR..
Darkness_hacker99 SG Go X-fer $ Study till morning borrow $ from mother Go buy Harry potter series 7. come back sleep
toyota-corolla SG Ah I see. And is it true that auto tranny car or manual tranny car in Netural gear, you cant rev the car more than 5500rpm? I tried with my dad honda civic, and i cant rev more than 5500.
alleggerita SG Ijjit? In Neutral cannot rev more than 5500rpm? Or is this just a feature in the Honda Civic? Haha..my uncle's Volvo S40 2.4i can rev all the way to the redline in Neutral leh..that time my uncle say his engine sounds damn nice, then I say: "Ok, rev it for me to hear." He revved it in neutral all the way to the redline..and DAMN, it really sounds nice!
toyota-corolla SG Is a german car. I dont know, my uncle (a car repair) told me that, new car cant rev more than 5500. well some. Hell, I miss this car a lot. Lancia Dedra. 1.6. My dad's car generation: Lancia Dedra 1.6ie Manual (1992 - 2002) Toyota Corolla 1.5 Auto (2002 - 2006) Honda Civic 1.8 Auto (2006 - present) Hell I miss Lancia a lot.
alleggerita SG A Lancia?! That's rare! Continental cars is good because their car from new no need go back workshop after first 1000km to change engine oil, unlike jap saloons..continental cars are already ran-in for you at their factory.. And the Volvo's 5-cylinder 2.4-litre engine just sounds so good..dunno why..
toyota-corolla SG Almost like Lancia. Hell! Less than 10 of Lancia Dedra are left in Singapore. I wanna get one when I got my license. I got lots of memories with that b!tch car (cos usually break down). But hey wait a min. Honda Civic sounds like a Mustang. I'm serious.
alleggerita SG Yeah, Lancia well-known for patchy reliability..lol..and yeah, the new Civic sounds sporty too, but engine definitely not as refined and smooth as the Volvo's 5-cylinder set-up.. And the Volvo sounds nicely off-beat..a bit like a V10 engine..
toyota-corolla SG Yes, Lancia is well known for reliability for the first 9 years and 120 days. After that, prepare to send your car to scrap yard. But seriously, I miss that car, big, powerful, yet reliability. Lancia!! And come on lah! You where can compare a Volvo with a Honda? Volvo S40 cost $119,000 with COE. Honda Civic 1.8 cost $79,200 with COE lea. Volvo got 5 washing machine cylinder while Honda only got 4 cylinder lea, 16 valve only lea. How to compare. But one thing I know is Honda FC is better than Volvo. Hahahaa.
