CoolMyth SG I always like to say, it's time to teach university stuff to our JC cohort to separate the really good ones from the fakes. Also, it's a good time to prepare them to compete with our FTs who come in and seemingly know everything there is to it about the things learned in university. Though the boys will be disadvantaged cause they need to spent 2 years to become men.
hisoka SG you mean the other adult males from other countries are not men? anyway if we start to introduce uni stuff to jc, then the jc will just become another poly
Icemoon SG Isn't it already happening? I mean those taking S-papers. The content is definitely harder than some of the maths modules in university. The FTs know because they are more hardworking and their own syllabus prepared them well for certain topics (not all).
Icemoon SG Relatively speaking, jc stuffs harder than uni you know. Pedagogically speaking, some of us just cannot see the light at jc level. when we reach uni level, suddenly mao2 se4 dun4 kai1.
gerrykoh SG My niece is an average student in Sec. sch. Left for Australia when she was 15. Now she is one of the top students in her uni & offered a place to do Law. She intends to find a job after graduation & don't want to come back. Tells me if she studied here, she might not get a place in uni.
CoolMyth SG No, they are still boys. My grandma's definition of men = A man is a man when he has a job. Actually, that's a pretty good idea. Might as well convert all JCs to polys, though on a smaller scale, for example, some JCs serve as schools of etc etc. Then, if there are people who apply to local uni and got rejected. At least they got a diploma to fall back on. An A Levels cert without uni is still worthless in today's context.
HyuugaNeji SG If got money, go overseas to study is the best. I got a female friend who went to cambridge to study after A levels. Her A levels only A B B with Bs in GP. She studied a 4 years master course in chemical engineering and now has a master degree. What about those with 4As in A level? They slog it out in a local university and after 4 years, get an honours in chemical engineering. Masters >>> honours
curryman SG too bad for us here lah....alot of smart pple in india or other poor countries also....no opporturnity..wat to do? make the most of wat u have lor
hisoka SG better not, then we will have a glut of diplomas. besides one of the reasons pple go jc is cos they don't want to really choose a course of study too early. of course can still change but harder if poly. yeah A lvl's cert is actually useless
nonameguy SG BTW, does anyone know when the next two dragon years will be? I want to makes sure that I don’t have a son/daughter on those years…....
CoolMyth SG Traditionally, the birth rate will be at its lowest at the year of the Tiger. Though I dun know if that's really true. It's something I hear one.
798 SG yeah, it is true. chinese very superstituous regarding pple born in year of tiger. a fact statistic shown dat the two depression occurred in the year of tiger where most pple r jobless.
Mewlove SG Yep actually its both the Tiger and dog year. The two years with the most babiesI suppose its Dragon and pig.
sir sickolot II SG while the recession bit is true, but having a child in the year of the tiger also means more chances in the local education system cause less 'competition' ma. excludes FTs.
motoway SG tell u is pray one.. i pray to guan yin niang niang.. Nxt time teach u method.. power ok.. cannot say out.. wait everybardy chut same method den wun work liao..
