8th generation civic

my dad bought the new civic last week. the 1.8 i-Vtec-S for 79,000. last time was 77,500. COE bid = 11,000.

we test drive it. the salesman went up to 100kmph along the ubi ave xx. but cannot test drive along eunos/ airport road/ paya lebar. only inside ubi. cos of last time the mazda car accident issue. my dad wanted to try hear the sound on the metal plates on the road surface at airport road

the car wheels is a bit noisy.. when we ask to tried the ramp to the honda carpark.

overall, interior is very good, exterior not that nice.. interior.. yeah. digital speedometer and the normal one. but i think the radio/aircon controls looks a bit ugly.. 4 big round knobs. Laughing and the auto version has a "manual" version also..

the 2.0 version has a cruise-control..

the 7th gen VTI actually looks nicer, but its a 1.6.. the 8th gen all is either 1.8 or 2.0..

the price.. 79,000.. is alright la.. nowadays car prices already so low.. coming months gonna increase again..

our current mazda 323 bought in 1998 already cost 87,000. so these new and bigger honda cost less is amazing!

still, the 8th gen civic is quite a nice car Very Happy

my uncle was due to collect his new 8th gen civic ard this time
apparently the SE told him tt there is a worldwide shortage of civics
hahahawtf
his car must die die must scrape b4 end march as anytime later will eat into the 5th year
so might be given an accord to temporarily drive along with some goodies thrown in

coz the civic is always a hatch in UK. is there actually a saloon version of it in Sg?

the problem is, sometimes cars that are saloons are still defined as hatches here in uk, such as the Skoda Octavia n the Rover 416. So we consider them within the same class.

Anyways i was thinking the 207 GTi rivals the CTR, both coming out est. 08.

nope. not been in touch with wads happening across the pond for awhile now. wonder if it'll still be powered by the current K series engine. too roundish for my liking though. prefer a flatter, wider stance. Neutral

It will not be cheap if the car is coming in as a PI. Since kah motor is already selling it at $80000 for the Si at current COE...I believe it will be far more than that( since COE is expected to rise back).
