Gazelle SG I think the A8 6L W12 engine is probably the closest one can get to experience the W engine set up. realisitically, how many people in the world could actually get to see a veyron, not to talk about test driving it. Dont forget that alot of the Veyron technology actually comes from Audi motorsports involvemnet in the R8.
AE86tofu SG obviously not.....but remember this car was the granddaddy of all 4wd cars.....thats way back on 1980
Gazelle SG No doubt that it is a classic and the pioneer of 4wd in motorracing. but I still think that today's quattro technology are better than before. e.g all new RS model quattro are now adjusted to be rear bias to improve handling and understeer, and it give the car a more sporty feel.
Gazelle SG I wont call it a sports car because of it weight and size. Yes. 6.0L A8 is cheap.....relatively cheap to super sport cars only..
Gazelle SG talking about technik, i think the DSG (found in both GTI and Veyron) will be another trend starter.
AE86tofu SG veyron have meh? wouldnt it break under the immense power? and If i'm correct the veyron's tranny cannot weight more than a bag of flour
Gazelle SG Yes, but a kingkong version of it. I understand that Veyron was not designed to be a light weight super sports cars, like Zonda or Mclaren F1. That car weight more than 2,000kg, heavier than a merc s class I think,.
zgim80 SG the closest we can ever get to driving sth with similar technology to dat will be an RS4.. which is still not very likely
Gazelle SG There is a limit to how far Audi are allowed go because of its relationship with Lambo. Audi is coming out with the R8 Le Mans and that is going to be very close the the Lambo cat in terms of speed and performance. (guess price too) As for the RS4, i think the feel will be different because it is a NA. personally I still prefer the twin turbo RS6, somehow without the turbos, you just dont get the EM...
