We can't determine market factors. I lost nearly as much too from the car I bought in 2003. But those who bought COE at 40k++ then are those who loses the most.

However, it is my belief that at this point, you can't lose much from a new budget car. There is only this much low that prices are allowed to drop. Wink

I have an urgent sale to make. I won a car in the Best Denki lucky draw and need to get rid of the car urgently. Still unclaim, becos once I claim and sell it, then its 2nd hand. So now need to sell to new owner to claim.

Asking $37,000 NO COE, insurance, road tax, radio licence, number plates, ERP IU and registration.

Well, everything is in comparison. Just imagine what a korean car can fetch under the same senario. It seems Jap cars got easily sold in the second-hand market, but korean cars can be there for quite a while.

Colt is a decent car, but the boot is really small. Looks smaller than a Jazz.

Actual i just sell off my accent 1.5m this month after 3 yrs of ownership since
new car.Scrap value plus 4k,that is all i get.Lost 9k plus per yr.Shit.
From my pt of view,car don't buy too expensive especially those OMV low
but selling at high price(be it new or old car) because this big gap is quite
difficult to break even.

Hey, just leeching on this tread.

What do most of you think of Nissan Latio against Corolla Altis?
The way I see it the main difference being

Latio is smaller in size but relatively spacious.
Corolla being 1.6CC has slidhtly higher power and tuoge. 81\6000 vs 80\6000. About 148\4400 vs 142\4400
I like the design of latio better, both exterior and interior. Altis just seems too common.

Any Opinions?

Well, actually you should ask yourself which area your most particular in, let’s say car’s performance.. or spaciousness. Then perhaps you can ask someone to do a evaluation on those 2 cars for you here.

I brought the magazine “motoring” for January 2006. It featured 4 budget saloons ( Honda City, Verna, Vios, Rio ) and quite a detailed evaluation on the overall performance and comfortability. But I was looking for the evaluation for Lancer , Latio and corolla Altis. Cant seem to find it..

Lancer is such a old model, unless you want to wait for its FL version which I heard it quite Ah puek, else you would see its review anytime soon.

Because it is weak for a 1.6, drinks like no body's business. Review was that the old Civic 1.6 easily top TS in term of handling and thus there goes its only good point. Small cabin too. So ultimately, it is still a fun car instead of a practical one.

hey.. new update.. they say the new lancer face lift is quite ok.. some even say is even better.. i tink the batch of lancer with sunny facelift is not sg model so your option can still be open to lancer.. but try and check out the new facelift then tell us more info man.. haha.. thanks

last night, my friends and i went out for dinner. my friend just passed on friday and he drove his mom's hyundai getz. good car i must say. for small person, the dashboard is low and the windscreen is wide. auto car. so easy to drive.

for those who do not know, i am still learning how to drive in cdc. taking manual. only got pdl. auto is SO EASY!! haha. but i drove a bit at carparks, empty streets and such. i dun mind getting a hyundai getz!

but for a 1.4L getz, it had problems going up the benjamin sheares bridge towards rochor rd frm airport. my friends opened the windows and screamed 'help!!' for fun. haha. so my friend suggested the 1.6L model or what.. 1.4L 5 door auto at 49000 and 1.6L 5 door auto at 52000.

Firstly, manual isn't that hard to drive. So if after getting your license, if possible, get a manual car. With constant driving, 2 months later, you will be shifting gears naturally.

Secondly, even my manual kelisa can drive up sheares bridge with total driver/passenger load of 330kg, 80kph and accelerating. That getz is really under-power! I would suggest Swift or Siron, their power is more proportional to the engine CC.

yes dats right so pls chk and make sure b4 u misleed others..the current facelift lancer is having is jus a minor 'makeover' from the current model..and its only applicable to the sports edition.

Main changes includes a new bodykit, dougnet headrest (civic SiR). So to the gentleman who's interested in lancer, go ahead, I believe the latest pricing could well be another 1k lower than last month's. The new facelifted model will be available at the leng kee C&C show room, so have a look there and not take others comments too hard...

for a sports edition manual, last month's lowest I heard after all the rebates is abt $48.5k

I predict this month it can go to $47k. Good catch..jus imagine..it was sold for $75k 2-3yrs back..

Ai ya, all of our comments said nothing about the outter appearance of Lancer, as a matter of fact, I think most of us think it is very nice looking. It is the engine we are throwing bad reviews on, and only the auto CVT one, or should I say transmission ...... Confused So unless we are talking about "engine-life" or "transmission-life", else it is still the same old lancer to us.
