u stupid or what?
they speak cantonese coz maybe they dunno how to speak mandarin, or
that their mandarin is very poor...
of course they dun wanna speak broken mandarin on TV n let everyone
laugh at them? or having to speak mandarin n have to pause n think
of what words to say.... so they speak what they r fluent in
lah!!
if u work in a chinese restaurant, by right the waiter or waitress
should be able to speak cantonese... unless its some ignorant young
waiter like u...
coz mostly chinese restaurant is serving cantonese/hong kong
cuisine..
