What kind of experience? Excuse me but you have your priorities wrong. At that young of an age, kids should be studying and playing instead of getting distracted by factors like relationships.

In my days, parents worry that we will neglect studies due to tv and playing. Now, parents worry about BGR instead. Rolling Eyes

What do you mean by 13-16 years old. You are forgetful. Remember the nine years old girl who got pregnant by a nine years old schoolmate?

how many girls get pregnant at 9 yrs old. i'd say maybe 1 in a million? i'm talking about 13-16 year olds. they are physically matured and they can get pregnant.
by open-mindedness, i mean touching each other in the privates, openly talk about sensitive topics.
you think 13-16yr olds nowadays are still naive as before? no, i don't think so. parents know that, and they still don't take any major actions.

so i'm against 13-16 yr olds having bgr(s).

No, kids nowadays just aren't innocent anymore and that is what's so sad about it.

Anyway, my point is that even eight or nine years old kids aren't that innocent anymore.

Remember to use protection when things get too hot.... Dun regret when u grow Old can le... Of coz... U must be constantly remind urself not to neglect other stuffs which are impt at ur age....

hmm. what can you expect? it's sad, yes.
i guess it's the parents' role to enforce restrictions on the kids. if they don't do it, nobody else can. they school can only educate them.

It's to my impression that quite a number of parents are bad at parenting. Have you seen how some parents dress their little girls up? They dressed their girls up as if they were going to prostitute their daughters. They think it's pretty, but no, it made their daughters looks like severely underaged tramps.

I think parents nowadays have 2 mindsets:
1) Give children the best.
2) Give them what I do not have when I was a kid.

And sadly enough, some parents, lack maturity, common sense and ultimately, control over these mindsets.

What results from that are unreasonable parents along with unruly spoilt brats all over Singapore.

you'll never listen to those who're older (ESPECIALLY your dad & mum)

and you'll think you're old enough to decide at least some of the things you want in life (like a bf/gf)

and you'll think you're pretty much ready to take on the world (in particular with matters of getting attached).

it'll only be after you get a little older (20s?) that you'll understand why people disapproved of getting attached so early.

I'm fine with it, but adolescents of that age should get too obsessed with it. The feeling of being in love is nice and I wouldn't deny the kids that.

However, as they grow their outlook in life, their goals and what they want may change, and their partners may not be suitable anymore.

I'm not saying it doesn't happen in adulthood, but things are usually more settled then.

Not against it. Had my 1st bf when I was 15. I might not have thought so back then, but 13~16 yr old teens are very impressionable. Our society was too backward to handle these situations / guide these kids along.. it was a taboo subject and we couldn't get any help about it without getting screwed. So it was very much up to the individual's maturity (it shouldn't be that way, too risky w/o guidance).

It's still the same today.

Hmm.. I am 19 and never been in a bgr before. No offence, but are you trying to say that kids should study and no care about anything else. I mean, kids shouldn't only study, they should have a life other than studying. And having a r/s when they are young(which is mostly doom to fail) makes them more experienced next time when they are facing r/s problems.

no, I think its more of a security issue, y'know? what with our parents running outside getting stressed out over their work, who are they to go to?
not to forget that some people in single-sex schools do not come into much contact with the opp gender, so when they do, they get a bit crazy/excited.
well, thats what I think at least.
(okay, I have ntg against single-sex schools)

For goodness sake, kids nowadays are so immature and childish. I mean, just look at their behaviour. I see 13 and even 16 year old boys playing catching during recess and talk about Pokemon but they have relationships. Are they ready to have relationship?

Most of them don't even know what they're doing. See the problem? It's just so annoying to see 13-14 year olds holding hands and blablabla then they break up after two weeks getting together. Then cry like there is no tomorrow for a day, the day after, they're with someone else, What's the problem? 13-15 year olds are immature. Maybe >15 okaylah.

Yes, I concur with that.

I think sixteen and above should be a good age to start... but only if it doesn't affect studies and the kids doesn't do any naughty things.

Speaking of naughty things, most of them can't control it and end up doing. Some of them even think that doing it means they love one another. Misguided lar.....
